Pre-Convention Professional Development (PD) Workshops

The Canadian Psychological Association is seeking submissions for Pre-Convention PD Workshops to take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, the day before the opening of the 78th annual National Convention in Toronto, ON. Presented by an individual or a group, these workshops should have a clearly defined practical, experiential, or demonstration component, and be led by presenter(s) with widely acknowledged expertise and experience in the content area, these sessions should focus on specific learning outcomes (i.e. tangible new skills, tools and/or techniques). The CPA would like as many Pre-Convention PD Workshops as possible to be eligible for CE (continuing education) credit.

Pre-Convention PD Workshops are either half day or full day in length, and are intended to be participatory sessions where delegates will engage and interact with each other. Successful PD Workshops are innovative, interactive, inclusive, integrative, developmental, provocative, logistically sound, and address specific educational needs. They must provide both new and experienced psychologists with an opportunity to continue their professional development. Workshop budgets include a $750 (max) travel subsidy which can be applied toward pre-approved transportation and/or accommodation costs for the presenter(s). Any transportation and/or accommodation costs over $750 will be the responsibility of the session sponsor and/or sponsoring CPA Section(s).
