(A conflict of interest is as a situation in which a committee member has a private, personal or professional interest sufficient to appear to influence the objective exercise of his or her official duties.)<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>All Fellows shall be invited by the Chair to nominate Fellows to serve on the Committee on Fellows.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>The Chair and the Members of the Committee on Fellows shall not be nominators\u00a0or\u00a0proposers\u00a0of nominees during their term.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Appointments to the Committee on Fellows and Awards shall be made by the Board of Directors from the\u00a0nominations submitted by the Chair of the Committee.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>The Committee on Fellows and Awards shall, as far as practicable, be formed with due regard to gender\u00a0 balance, linguistics balance, geographical balance, academic and practitioner balance, and degree level balance (Masters and doctoral), so as to have representatives from three constituencies:\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>Practice<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Science<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Education and Training.<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>Members shall serve for terms of three years, rotating so that one-third of the membership is reconstituted each year. Terms of members shall be renewable, but only after a hiatus of at least three years following the end of one\u2019s term<i>.<\/i><\/li>\n\n\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n<h4>Accountability<\/h4>\n\n\nThe Committee reports to the Board of Directors through the Director Responsible for Fellows and Awards, who is also the Committee Chair.\n\n\n<h4>Responsibilities of Committee Members<\/h4>\n\n\nThe Fellows and Awards Committee members are responsible for pursuing the vision and terms of reference of the Committee.\u00a0To this effect, members participate in all discussions pertaining to Fellows and Awards on projects or issues brought forward by the Committee, the Board of Directors, the sections and the members as appropriate.\n\n\n<h4>Membership Term<\/h4>\n\n\nMembers shall serve for terms of three years, rotating so that one-third of the membership is reconstituted each year. Terms of members shall be renewable, but only after a hiatus of at least three years following the end of one\u2019s term.\n\n\n<h4>Meetings and Reporting<\/h4>\n\n\nThroughout the year communication will take place primarily through e-mail.
