Supporting and advocating for students is a core value that has always guided my work. As a clinical psychology graduate student, I was elected by my cohort and the cohort below to represent them on the University of Saskatchewan Clinical Executive Committee. In this role, I expanded student wellness initiatives and created opportunities for community-building across psychology disciplines and cultural backgrounds. I organized inclusive team-based events and advocated for student-led projects, such as program social media initiatives. My aim has always been to be someone my peers can trust, someone who listens, shows up, and advocates for their success. It would be an honour to extend this commitment to the national CPA student community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Beyond this role, I bring a strong record of mentorship and collaborative leadership. I have volunteered with undergraduate research events, guiding students as they navigated early stages of their academic development. Additionally, I developed and led statistics practice sessions for graduate students across psychology disciplines, fostering a space where students could ask questions openly and learn from one another. Earlier in my life, my experience as a varsity soccer player taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and collective accountability, qualities that continue to shape how I lead today. Complementing these academic and campus experiences, I served as an aquatic supervisor, coordinating lifeguard teams and overseeing safety and communication during emergencies. Le soutien et la d\u00e9fense des personnes \u00e9tudiantes sont des valeurs fondamentales qui ont toujours guid\u00e9 mon travail. En tant qu\u2019\u00e9tudiant dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 en psychologie clinique, j'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu par ma cohorte et celle dessous pour les repr\u00e9senter au comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif clinique de l'Universit\u00e9 de Saskatchewan. He is supervised by Dr. Megan O\u2019Connell who is an expert in the fields of neuropsychology and dementia. Patrick\u2019s dissertation examines the efficacy of a novel cardiovascular biomarker in the early detection of cognitive decline and subsequent neuronal degradation. Additionally, Patrick does research on Middle Eastern caregivers of individuals with dementia to better understand the supports that would help them flourish. He has also maintained a collaboration with University of Toronto researcher Dr. Judith Andersen, whose work involves assessing cardiovascular biomarkers in police populations.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of his academics, Patrick represents his fellow cohort mates before the Clinical Executive Committee at the University of Saskatchewan. He also enjoys playing intramural sports and staying fit through regular exercise in the gym. Patrick is a massive fan of soccer and makes time every week to play at school and watch professional games. Patrick has aspirations of specializing in neuropsychology and opening his own practice. I\u2019m especially interested in these positions as they focus on something I value; helping students feel connected, supported, and informed within the psychology community.<br \/>\nAs a first-year M.Sc. student in Clinical Psychology at the University of Regina, I\u2019ve learned how important clear communication and organization are in fast-paced, collaborative environments. Through my work as a Graduate Research Assistant on large, multi-site projects, I regularly balance multiple responsibilities, communicate with different team members, and contribute to ongoing research and knowledge translation. These experiences have made me comfortable taking initiative, staying organized, and following through on tasks.<br \/>\nI\u2019m particularly drawn to the Graduate Student Affairs Executive role because I enjoy working directly with students. In past roles as a lab manager and mentor, I\u2019ve helped onboard new members, maintain engagement, and support others in navigating academic and professional challenges. I would bring that same approachable and responsive style to supporting Student Representatives and addressing student concerns.<br \/>\nAt the same time, I\u2019m also interested in the Communications Executive role because I enjoy writing and sharing information in a way that feels clear and accessible. Nicholas Carleton. Her current research focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) cadets, with particular interest in social anxiety, psychological resilience, and coping-related alcohol use. Her master\u2019s thesis examines how coping-related alcohol use may interact with psychological wellbeing to predict social anxiety symptoms in RCMP cadets, with the broader goal of informing resilience training, peer support, and early intervention initiatives for public safety personnel.<\/p>\n<p>Autumn completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with High Honours at Wilfrid Laurier University, where her undergraduate thesis explored the role of self-compassion in social anxiety, shame, and post-event processing following stressful conversations. Across both her undergraduate and graduate training, she has contributed to multiple research projects, conference presentations, and manuscripts focused on trauma, mental health, and wellbeing. Her broader academic interests include anxiety-related disorders, trauma and stressor-related conditions, and the application of evidence-based research to real-world clinical settings.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond her academic and research work, Autumn is passionate about mentorship, leadership, and mental health advocacy, and has held several roles supporting student engagement and community outreach. I see this role as an opportunity to contribute positively to the psychology student community by applying the organizational and leadership experience I have developed through previous executive and administrative roles to help support the initiatives and ongoing work of the CPA Student Section.<\/p>\n<p>A large portion of my administrative and leadership experience comes from my involvement with the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity during my undergrad, where I served a year in several executive roles including Head of Membership and Vice President, as well as Chapter President for two years. Across these positions, I was responsible for maintaining organizational records, preparing meeting minutes, coordinating schedules and events, tracking budgets and reimbursements, and communicating with both local and international partners. These experiences strengthened my ability to work within executive teams, manage competing responsibilities, and approach administrative work in a dependable and detail-oriented manner. As part of my graduate training, I am currently contributing to research in both the O\u2019Connell and Cognition labs at the University of Saskatchewan, while also providing therapy and neurocognitive assessments through practicum placements. My recent academic work has included contributing to a book chapter on intelligence and reasoning, presenting posters at ADHD-focused conferences, and I am currently preparing to run the first study of my dissertation. Through these experiences, I have continued developing the organizational, communication, and collaborative skills necessary for both research and administrative roles.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to graduate school, I was heavily involved in leadership, mentorship, and community initiatives alongside my undergraduate studies. Through the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, I held positions including Chapter President and Regional Undergraduate Cabinet Representative, where I gained experience with governance, policy and procedural document writing, meeting coordination, and executive collaboration. I was also involved in philanthropic initiatives, most notably organizing a bone marrow donor drive in partnership with the Gift of Life Registry. In addition, I worked as a tutor for youth and as an ADHD coach for young adults, experiences that strengthened my ability to mentor others, communicate effectively, and adapt to diverse academic and interpersonal settings.<\/p>\n<p>Building on my academic interests and long-term career goals, I hope to continue pursuing work that integrates cognitive science with clinical psychological practice.
