Mission:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The purpose of the Indigenous Peoples’ Psychology Section is to:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Strengthen and support a network of psychologists, researchers, students and community partners committed to advancing approaches to teaching, research, applied practice, and policy that are relevant to the comprehensive wellbeing of Indigenous peoples throughout Canada and around the world.<\/li>\n
  2. Advance knowledge of the complex historical and contemporary sociopolitical dimensions of Indigenous Peoples\u2019 mental health and wellbeing.<\/li>\n
  3. Generate, share and mobilize wise practices within and beyond psychology that strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of Indigenous Peoples, and to prioritize Indigenous research methodologies, epistemologies and lived experiences in the generation of these wise practices.<\/li>\n
  4. Advocate for the rights of Indigenous Peoples\u2019 in all aspects of mental health and wellbeing and the responsibility of the CPA to take action on calls for culturally-appropriate, critical, community, anti-oppressive and decolonizing approaches to research and applied practice. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
