In 1994 at the annual business meeting, it was suggested that we initiate an award for the best student paper \/ poster presented at the annual convention. In 1995 this practice was initiated and continues today. In 2005 the section executive renamed the award for best student paper presentation to The John W. Berry Award recognising the important contributions of Professor Berry to the development of Cross-Cultural psychology in Canada and around the globe. We also developed the Francis E. Aboud award for the best student poster presentation at the annual conference. In 2021 to honour our long time colleague and friend Marta Y. Young, we created the Marta Y. Young Award for best student short presentation (5 or 12 minute).<\/p>\n
