All members of SWAP, including student members, are encouraged to join.<\/p>\n<h2>SWC Initiatives<\/h2>\n<h3>Subcommittee on Leadership, Diversity, and Inclusion (2021)<\/h3>\n<p>During the CPA convention in June 2021, SWAP hosted a virtual social event on fostering leadership, diversity, and inclusion within SWAP and CPA.\u00a0As a result of the event, SWAP is launching a new subcommittee to continue this work.\u00a0<strong>Help us advocate for issues that are important to our members and\u00a0work to include diverse perspectives related to girls and women in Canadian Psychology.<\/strong>\u00a0Read our <a href=\"\/docs\/File\/Sections\/SWAP\/SWAP Leadership Diversity and Inclusion.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">summary<\/a> to learn more about the virtual social event, the new\u00a0subcommittee, and how to get involved.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Panel on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (2021).<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"\/docs\/File\/Sections\/SWAP\/CPA 2021 MMIWG Panel Save the Date_V2.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"textwrapright\" style=\"max-width: 250px;\" src=\"\/docs\/File\/Sections\/SWAP\/CPA 2021 MMIWG Panel Save the Date_V2.png\" border=\"1\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAt the 2021 CPA Virtual Convention, the Section on Women and Psychology, Indigenous Peoples\u2019 Psychology, Section for Students in Psychology and Rural and Northern Psychology co-sponsored a panel titled \u201cThe Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls: Canadian Psychology Responds.\u201d The panel brought together current and emerging leaders of psychology who each spoke about one of the recommendations from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmiwg-ffada.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MMIWG Report<\/a>, how CPA could address this recommendation, the changes that are needed, and other related comments.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of this event is to foster dialogue and change in the field of psychology. As a first step in this process, panelists Efimoff, Kumar, and Mehak wrote an <a href=\"\/docs\/File\/Sections\/SWAP\/MMIWG Panel Executive Summary D1_posted.09.29.21.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Executive Summary<\/a> summarizing the panel event and compiling the audience-panelist Q&amp;A. Conference registrants can watch the panel recording through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eventmobi.com\/cpa2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">conference platform<\/a> until the end of December 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>CPA Guidelines for Ethical Psychological Practice with Women (2007)<\/h3>\n<p>Jean Pettifor, Judi Malone, and Elizabeth Church co-authored the <a href=\"\/cpasite\/UserFiles\/Documents\/publications\/guidelines%20for%20psychological%20practice%20women.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guidelines for Ethical Psychological Practice with Women<\/a> for SWAP&#8217;s Status of Women Committee (SWC).
