Déclaration d’intention
Third year student in research and intervention in psychology at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, it would be for me a great opportunity to take part in the CPA as the Graduate Student Affairs Executive.
First off, I have always wanted to get involved in the association since I consider it a true source of learning, encounters, and opportunities in the field of research in psychology. Since I have at heart the transfer of knowledge, it would especially be a pleasure to be able to contribute to the promotion and the reach of the CPA on the university campus across the country. Moreover, I’m sure that the skills and aptitudes that I have developed throughout my PHD program will be useful and favourable for this position. For example, I’ve had to develop my leadership and management skills when I got involved as a mentor in the CPA mentorship program, or by coordinating a team of research assistants for a project in my director’s lab. The interpersonal aptitudes I’ve developed during my clinical internship makes me a very sensitive, open-minded person and attentive of my peers. Finally, I consider my capability to communicate in French and in English to be an attribute for this position.
Since I am ambitious, devoted, and competent, I’m confidant that these characteristics, as well as my experience expressed here, will make me an excellent candidate for this position. It would be an honor for me to share my passion with research students in psychology in Canada, and to be able to help advance the knowledge and the research in psychology on matters that impacts people in our society.
