Information: Given to the student with the most meritorious submission to the Clinical Section of the CPA Annual Convention; the student whose submission wins is invited to describe her/his work in the fall edition of the Clinical Section newsletter, The Canadian Clinical Psychologist. Application Procedure: The deadline for applications is May 1. All students whose presentations have been accepted within the Clinical Section program are invited to apply. Application forms are available on the Clinical Section website.
Clinical Section Educational Activity Student Grant
Amount: Up to $1,000, awarded to a student to help organize an extracurricular educational activity.
Information: Designed to help Clinical Section students extend their educational experience through organizing extracurricular educational activities (e.g., workshops, lectures, round tables). Please see the Clinical Section website for more information:
Application Procedure: Annual deadline is in January 15th. Application forms are available on the Clinical Section website.
Amount: There are three awards First prize, worth $200, given to the highest-ranking submission overall. There are two runners-up, awarded to the next two highest-ranking submissions, each worth $100.
Information: The Best Student Conference Presentation Awards are designed to recognize and support high quality student research. These awards are also designed to encourage communication between Clinical Section students and to promote the development of reviewing skills. These awards are adjudicated through a peer-review process.

Information: The Clinical Section Travel Awards were designed to help clinical section students from across Canada travel to the annual convention of the Canadian Psychological Association. This year, we are awarding 10 Clinical Section Travel Awards, each valued at $500 for travel. We are also awarding 3 additional travel awards each valued at $500 for early career psychologists (5 years from graduating or first appointment).
All students (and early career psychologists) who have posters or presentations accepted by the Clinical Section are invited to apply. This award is separate from the travel bursaries granted by CPA to students traveling long distances.
To be eligible for the student awards, applicants must be:
• First author on a poster or oral presentation accepted by the Clinical Section for the CPA annual convention. The poster or oral presentation must present the results of an empirical study. Presentation of literature reviews and conversation sessions are not eligible.
• A student or similar type of member of the Clinical Section of CPA at the time of submission.
• A Canadian citizen or attending a Canadian university (or having graduated with their undergraduate degree within the past 2 years)
• Priority will be given to students who attend Universities (or reside) 500 kms or more from the city in which the conference is being held.
To be eligible for the early career travel awards, applicants must be:
• Within five years of graduating or their first appointment
