Statement of Intent
I am thrilled to express my interest in the Undergraduate Student Affairs Executive position. I am eager to hold this position and actively contribute to fostering the growth of inclusivity and equity within our undergraduate student communities, recognizing the pivotal role such an environment has in enriching a student's academic journey. As the current Campus Representative for the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), my diverse experiences and qualifications are apparent for this upcoming position.
My experiences have given me a strong awareness for and understanding of undergraduate students' concerns and current issues, particularly in accessing opportunities and support services. By leveraging my personal experiences and diverse perspectives, I wish to address these concerns to ensure that all students have equal access to resources and opportunities through the support of the Student Representative.
Throughout my undergraduate degree, I have held various academic leadership roles, which have developed my skills in student advocacy and problem-solving. Additionally, my role in maintaining a resource page with graduate and CPA resources has further strengthened my ability to connect students to reliable resources and support services. Furthermore, my experience coordinating and hosting events has equipped me with the skills to effectively engage students and foster equity and inclusivity on campus.
I am committed to addressing Representatives’ needs and ensuring they have the support necessary to effectively engage with their peers. Therefore, I plan to prioritize open communication and collaboration with Representatives to address individual concerns or inquiries. Additionally, I plan to update outdated documentation and create shared folders that Representatives may access with the necessary material to provide to students and host events.

Biography
As a senior undergraduate student at the University of the Fraser Valley, I am thrilled to express my interest in the upcoming Undergraduate Student Affairs Executive position. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong passion for supporting children’s learning and development. This enthusiasm has driven me to actively engage in various initiatives in my academic environment and community.
I am currently completing an undergraduate thesis aimed to identify individual differences in perceptions of and social interests towards autistic adolescents, which may explain why adolescents’ discriminate against their peers with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This project exemplifies my commitment to addressing stigmatizing attitudes and fostering interpersonal relationships. To involve adolescents as participants, I have initiated collaboration with two schools, recognizing the importance of community involvement in research. Aside from my honours thesis work, I have research experience volunteering in several research labs, actively contributing to investigating the impacts of a gratitude intervention on parents’ acceptance of their child(ren)’s ASD diagnoses and relationship with their child(ren) and am the co-author of a manuscript.
My passion for psychology and community-integrated environments has led me to take on several academic leadership positions: Canadian Psychological Association Campus Representative, Psychology Research and Study Space Supervisor and Student Psychology Association Event Coordinator. These experiences demonstrate my dedication and commitment to enhancing supportive and equitable student environments.
My academic pursuits are driven by a desire to contribute to the field of School Psychology. My long-term goal is to contribute to research that tailors support based on individualized needs and diverse cultural backgrounds. I aspire to conduct high-quality, culturally responsive research to provide evidence-based practices that will inform my work and contribute to the ongoing research in the field. Outside academia, I enjoy running, trying new cooking recipes, and spending quality time with loved ones.
