Join us this fall, for a powerful conference exploring the integration of traditional Indigenous healing practices in education, mental health, and community care. Featuring leaders Dr. Cynthia Wesley-Esquimaux, Dr. Varleisha D. Lyons, and Dr. Carolyn Coker Ross, this event offers hands-on tools, cultural insight, and professional learning for educators, clinicians, and community leaders.

Day One, led by Dr. Cynthia Wesley-Esquimaux, will center on Empowering Ourselves to Strengthen Our Future. Participants will explore how traditional Indigenous healing and spiritual practices can be integrated into mental health and education. The day will emphasize decolonization, Indigenization, and community empowerment, offering interactive sessions and reflective exercises that equip attendees with practical tools to support sustainable healing.

Day Two, facilitated by Dr. Varleisha D. Lyons, will feature a session titled Healing Through Spirit. This workshop will examine the intersection of trauma and spirituality within Indigenous communities, focusing on how cultural traditions, storytelling, and spiritual practices can address the impact of intergenerational trauma. Educators and professionals will learn how to create spiritually grounded, trauma-sensitive environments in classrooms and community programs.

Day Three, presented by Dr. Carolyn Coker Ross, will focus on Generations of Healing. It will explore the neurological, emotional, and cultural effects of intergenerational trauma, especially within Indigenous and historically marginalized communities. Participants will gain evidence-based and culturally sensitive strategies to disrupt cycles of trauma and foster resilience and family healing.

Across all three days, the conference will offer a powerful, forward-looking framework for integrating Indigenous healing practices into mental health, education, and community work.
