Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is pleased to offer a four-day Intensive Workshop in Prolonged Exposure (PE) for licensed mental health professionals and individuals working under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals. Developed by Dr. Edna Foa, PE is a gold-standard treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), supported by decades of research, clinical application, and real-world success. The American Psychological Association (APA) has designated PE as a first-line treatment in its 2025 Clinical Practice Guideline for the Treatment of PTSD in adults.
This workshop is approved by the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA) at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and qualifies toward CTSA certification as a PE Therapist.
The training will include:
- The empirical support for Prolonged Exposure
- The Emotional Processing Therapy underlying Prolonged Exposure
- The standard Prolonged Exposure protocol
- Managing common issues that arise during Prolonged Exposure (e.g., avoidance, over-engagement, under-engagement)
- Delivering Prolonged Exposure treatment
- Video examples of Prolonged Exposure sessions with clients
- Break-out sessions to practice skills and therapeutic strategies

About the trainer:
Dr. Tejas Srinivas, C.Psych. is a clinical psychologist, Clinical & Regional Training Lead for Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) in the Central North region, and a CTSA-certified therapist, consultant, and trainer in Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD. She has extensive clinical and research experience with diverse, trauma-affected populations, including military veterans, law enforcement, refugees, and survivors of gender-based and hate-based violence.
