Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists (Fourth Edition, 2017) Download PDF (English)

This Code articulates ethical principles, values, and standards to guide all members of the Canadian Psychological Association, whether scientists, practitioners, or scientist practitioners, or whether acting in a research, direct service, teaching, student, trainee, administrative, management, employer, employee, supervisory, consultative, peer review, editorial, expert witness, social policy, or any other role related to the discipline of psychology.

For more information about how the Fourth Edition differs from the previous version of the Code, please see Dr. Carole Sinclair’s article on pp. 36-37 of the Winter 2017 issue of Psynopsis.

Please note that the Companion Manual to the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists and CPA’s web-based course “Being an Ethical Psychologist” are now being revised to reflect the changes in the Fourth Edition. However, the current versions of each of these will remain available until the updated versions are released.

Lignes directrices concernant l’utilisation des tests de connaissances et des tests psychologiques

la SCP n’a pas de lignes directrices à ce sujet mais elle recommande d’utiliser les normes relatives aux tests de connaissances et aux tests psychologiques (Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing) qui ont été approuvées par l’American Educational Research Association, l’American Psychological Association et le National Council on Measurement in Education. Manuel pour le soin et l’utilisation des animaux d’expérimentation

la SCP a produit au début des années 1980 des lignes directrices sur le sujet. The CPA document, Guidelines for Educational and Psychological Testing, was published in 1987 and is no longer current. Until such time as this document is updated, the Board of Directors recommends that the following publication be used in its place.
