Psynopsis Magazine

Psynopsis, Canada's Psychology Magazine, is a vehicle by which CPA, CPA members, psychologists and those outside of psychology communicate with the diverse psychology community in Canada.
Advertising of commercial advertisements relevant to psychology (as well as non-commercial advertisements depending on space availability) is an important part of the communication function and financial viability of Psynopsis.

Psynopsis is a quarterly publication. The copy/advertising deadlines are March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1 of each year.

The CPA’s website receives over 45,000 unique visitors each month and nearly 25% of all visitors land on the Careers webpage. This regular online traffic provides your career advertisement with maximum exposure to psychologists in Canada.

  • CPA requires full payment in advance prior to posting your Career Ad on the CPA Careers webpage, we accept Visa and MasterCard payments only.
  • A New Career Ad is charged at a rate of $425.00 plus taxes for an initial 30-day posting.
  • Only one job/position per Career Post will be accepted. Postings with multiple positions will not be accepted.
  • Career Posts cannot be changed or modified once they are live on the website ( No exceptions. Please carefully review your New Career Ad before submitting it for posting.
  • New Career Ads must be submitted as a PDF. Word Documents will not be accepted.

Coming Events

The CPA strives to be a resource of information as an outreach medium and posting your event on the CPA Web site ( offers a quick and easy way to promote your event.

There is a $35 (plus applicable taxes) set-up fee to have an event placed on the CPA Coming Events calendar.  All postings need a date, title, location, contact phone number, e-mail, calendar URL. The Coming Events calendar is kept current and additional information can be added such as registration directions and other information that will be helpful for your attendees to know.

CPA Convention Exhibitor & Sponsorship Prospectus

The Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) hosts a national convention that attracts over 1,500 scientists and practitioners of psychology each year. In 2014, we received 1,304 conference submissions which covered a variety of psychology-related topics and presentation formats via posters, workshops, symposia, keynote lectures, and conversation sessions. CPA conventions offer three general learning opportunities for delegates:

  1. The first is a tremendous breadth of psychology research – delegates have the opportunity to learn about advances and developments in a broad array of areas such as clinical psychology, cognitive science, social psychology, clinical neuropsychology, psychologists in education, industrial organizational psychology, developmental psychology, counseling psychology, and criminal justice psychology to name only a few.
  2. The second is an opportunity, through meetings and presentations, to learn about developments and issues that govern practice, science and education in psychology such as legislation and standards governing clinical practice and granting and funding for research.
  3. The third is an opportunity to network with colleagues from across the country and to exchange information on initiatives and best practices and develop practice and research collaborations.
