Why Become a Member/Affiliate?
As a member of the CPA, you can play a vital role in the effort to improve the health and welfare of all Canadians;
promote excellence and innovation in psychological research, education, and practice; and promote the advancement, development, dissemination, and application of psychological knowledge.
Other benefits and services available exclusively to CPA members include CPA Journals, Psynopsis, Publications, CPA’s Convention, Awards, Advocacy, Sections and Special Interest Groups, Continuing Education, Accreditation, Liability Insurance, Personal Home and Auto Insurance, Pro Bono Legal Advice, and Practice and Personal Banking Products to name a few.

We encourage wanting to join the CPA to use our online application system – as it is easy, fast and secure!
You will need to provide a copy of any documentation (PDF or JPEG only) indicating your highest level of education obtained from your alma mater university. It must include:
- your full name,
- your program of study,
- the year your degree was conferred or indicates your active status in the current school year.
If you are currently a student in psychology, please provide documentation such as a schedule, a letter from the university indicating you’re an active student or an unofficial transcript that indicates you are an active student. Financial documents are not sufficient as they do not indicate your active status.
Step 1: Create a Web Account (you will receive a web confirmation once completed as well as an email with the next steps).
Step 2: Complete the Online Membership Application Form with your new credentials.
Step 3: The CPA Member Services Centre will review your completed application form (please ensure that the email email@example.com is added to your safe sender list).
Step 4: Once you have received an email confirmation from the Member Services Centre – you can now pay your Membership Invoice online (your membership will only be recognized once your invoice is paid) (credit card only)
Payments can be completed by cheque with a printed copy of the completed online form. The form and cheque can be send to: CPA – Member Services Centre, 141 Laurier Avenue West, Suite 702, Ottawa, ON, K1P 5J3.
The membership period is from January 1 to December 31st.
Membership fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and not pro-rated.
