Nominee Statement for Saeid Chavoshi seeking the Director at Large Position
I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University and I am currently a registered Clinical and School Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. My present positions include Director of The PsychoEd Clinic, Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Ontario, and Clinical Supervisor at York University. Additionally, I serve as Director of Clinical Training for the Toronto Residency in Applied and Community Psychology.
My governance experience includes serving on the Professional Affairs Committee of the Canadian Psychological Association and the board of directors of the Ontario Psychological Association. My research bridges clinical practice and theory in assessment and intervention for executive functioning and ADHD, with particular focus on women and culturally diverse populations. I actively contribute to the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance's research committee.
I am deeply committed to enhancing access to psychological care and diversifying the pool of psychological providers in Canada. In pursuit of these objectives, I am leading the development of Ontario's first not-for-profit Psy.D. program focused on school psychology.
As a member of the board of directors, I will leverage my extensive clinical, academic, and leadership experience to advocate effectively for policies and initiatives that expand the accessibility and inclusivity of psychological services by creating equitable training pathways that address both geographic and social barriers, ensuring a sustainable future for psychology in Canada.
