It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my nomination for the Director-at-Large position on the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Board of Directors. As a registered psychologist in Ontario with experience across research, education, and clinical practice, I am deeply committed to improving societal well-being. My Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, combined with work in university, hospital, primary care, and private sectors, provides a broad foundation. Additionally, my leadership role in the Federal Government offers systems-level insight into strategic planning and governance.
Key strengths I bring to the Board include:
- Strategic Thinking: As a Director within the Government of Canada, I served on a senior advisory committee supporting executive-level decision-making.
- Governance Knowledge: I have evaluated governance structures, risk profiles, and strategic plans to identify improvement opportunities across various public institutions.
- Leadership: I’ve led diverse teams, co-chaired a Research Ethics Board, supervised clinical students, and was recognized with the Auditor General of Canada Leadership Award (2024).
- Collaboration: I thrive in multidisciplinary environments—whether in health teams or among auditors and analysts—valuing the unique perspectives each member brings.
- Cultural Humility and EDI: I am committed to equity and inclusion, actively implementing an equity-centered care model and engaging in continuous learning through my work with Indigenous communities, and clients in minority contexts.
Current position: Psychologist, Équipe de santé familiale communautaire de l’Est d’Ottawa
I would be honoured to contribute to CPA’s mission and future.
