The Collaborations for Change conference brings post-secondary students, service professionals, mental health providers, and researchers together to have meaningful conversations on how to best move forward in integrating research and practice in post-secondary mental health and well-being.

Join us for virtually August 16 & 17, 2023 for educational sessions, presentations and panels including an opening keynote, a student round table, a panel with Indigenous Elders, and an Indigenous counsellor panel.

This year’s conference streams include:

Collaboration and Partnerships;
Decolonization and Indigenization;
Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility (EDIA);
Impact;
Systemic Approaches

This year’s opening keynote features Dr. Chika Stacy Oriuwa, a resident doctor in psychiatry at the University of Toronto. Named as one of Time magazine’s “2021 Next Generational Leaders,” Oriuwa is a medical trailblazer spearheading change in healthcare and beyond. She was named on Maclean’s Power 50 List in 2022 and was recently honoured in Mattel’s #ThankYouHeroes campaign, with a Barbie doll made in her image to commemorate her contributions as a frontline healthcare worker.

Oriuwa will share insight and actionable strategies into transformative leadership, mental health and wellness, and igniting change to build a more equitable future for all.

Collaborations for Change is hosted by University of Calgary’s Campus Mental Health Strategy and Best Practices Network in Canadian Higher Education (BP-Net) with support from the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS)
