About Dr. Laurence Sugarman:

With over two decades in pediatric practice, Dr. Sugarman is an expert in clinical biofeedback and hypnosis, seamlessly integrating mental health care into primary settings. As an Approved Consultant and Fellow with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, he has led various initiatives, including teaching at the National Pediatric Hypnosis Training Institute. He has been a Clinical Professor at the University of Rochester since the mid-1980s, & currently teaches Pediatrics, Health Sciences & Technology.

Dr. Sugarman’s extensive publications, including the acclaimed video-documentary “Hypnosis in Pediatric Practice,” and his latest book co-authored with Julie Linden and Lee Brooks, “Changing Minds with Clinical Hypnosis,” have garnered international recognition.

He focuses his research on self-regulation therapies for youth with developmental differences and the transformative potential of hypnosis in healthcare. Dr. Sugarman’s contributions have earned him numerous awards, including the prestigious Milton H. Erickson Award for excellence in clinical hypnosis writing.
