Match Made on Earth – Call for Contributors

Hello DoTs, DCTs and Current Residents or Residents to be,

We are Drs. Rebecca Pillai Riddell and Melanie Badali, the creators of the Match Made on Earth – Canada’s go-to open access residency application manual. We would like to crowdsource residency information nationally from DCTs, DoT’s, and current residents (2025-2026) or future residents (starting 2026-2027) and hoping you can spread the word to people in your network who are in these roles. Or, if you are in those roles, you please consider donating a little time to this worthwhile cause. As key partners in the residency application process, we would appreciate DCTs, DoT’s and trainees on or about to be on residency to help us update our manual to better meet the needs of future applicants.

Over the last 20 years, this manual has become one of the most consulted resources in navigating the Canadian residency application process. In the context of a post-pandemic, highly digital environment, we are now in the process of updating the 3rd edition of  Match Made on Earth. The survey should take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete and you would receive a Starbucks gift certificate as a token of our appreciation. We kindly ask that responses be submitted by Tuesday May 12, 2026.  This is time-sensitive because we want to deliver a new digital edition in time for the 2027 application cycle.

Thank you for considering this request. Your perspective is highly valuable and will contribute meaningfully to supporting the next generations of trainees.
