SWAP Archives

SWAP’s archives dating from 1972 to 2012 are housed (and can be accessed by the public) in the Archives and Special Collections unit (as part of the holdings of the Canadian Women’s Movement Archives) at Morisset Library, University of Ottawa. The archives include electronic and paper records that must be visited in person (possible future digitization), including newsletters (many of which are also accessible below), administrative records, annual reports, etc.

SWAP Newsletter

The SWAP Newsletter is published three times per year. To receive an emailed copy of the newsletter, you must be a SWAP member. Back Issues are posted below one year after publication.

Submissions

We welcome submissions for the newsletter from both members and non-members in any of the following categories:

• Columns on topics of interest to SWAP members, such as descriptions of relevant policy or practice guidelines in psychology organizations, commentaries on psychology of women work at the provincial or territorial level, reviews of recent conferences or meetings, commentary on current media stories, or reviews of recent research publications. You may also submit recent publications, methodological reviews, book reviews, conference reviews, or discussions on research areas of interest.
• Abstracts of recently defended Master’s thesis or PhD dissertation work for inclusion in our “Recently Defended” column.
• Updates on research-in-progress, members’ recent achievements, or external resources that may benefit the community.
• Relevant promotional or informational materials, such as details about upcoming conferences, calls for papers or abstracts, fellowships or job opportunities, and opportunities for student affiliates.

Submissions should be made to the SWAP Newsletter Editor at cpaswapnews@gmail.com. If you have new submission ideas not described above, please email the Newsletter Editor, who will be happy to review and discuss them with you.

Back issues of the SWAP newsletter are available below. Issues that are not listed, and those that are listed but are not hyperlinked, are missing from our archives. If you have a copy of any missing issues that you would be willing to share so that they may be included here, please email SWAP’s current Communications Coordinator or Chair.
